Character: Lust
Series/Fandom: Full Metal Alchemist (anime version)
Original or Alternate: Original
Age: Lust's real age is never given in canon. She appears to be in her mid-twenties. Given her past history, and how long ago that occurred, it is likely that she is about forty to fifty years old.
Gender: Female
Species: Homunculus
Sexuality: Lust is more or less bisexual, or even pansexual. Gender is not much of an issue - it's a person's other attributes that will determine if Lust is sincerely interested, or merely manipulating a person with her sex appeal.
Appearance: Overall, Lust's appearance is a classy sort of sexy reminiscent of the femme fatales in film noir. Lust is 5'7", and 140 pounds. (Note: Fansites say 121 pounds - the mun has studied anatomy and does not agree that a person could be that tall and as curvacious as Lust is at that weight) Her skin is very fair - unnaturally so, as a matter of fact. She's just a couple of shades darker than paper. Her long black hair is wavy and reaches past her waist in
length. Lust's eyes are violet colored, and she wears black lipstick. Lust's build is very curvacious. She wears a fitted dress with a low cleavage line, and long sleeves that extend into partial gloves (ie. they cover the top of her hands, but not the bottom). Her dress reaches down to the middle of her shins, and she wears black boots with heels. One of her most notable marks is the ouroboros mark on her chest.
Personality: Lust is manipulative. She frequently uses others to achieve her own goals, and manipulates them with her sexual appeal, threats, and any way she can convince them to do what she wants (without letting them know what she really wants). She is violent, and possesses sociopathic traits. However, unlike a true sociopath, Lust is capable of compassion. She also questions her true nature, and desires to be human. Occasionally, she will start to care for a person - though she does view this as a personal weakness of hers. Lust is a subtle person,
preferring to hint rather than spell things out for a person. She will flirt, and imply, but it is rare that she will outright say what she means. Machinations aside, Lust is a classy person. Her mannerisms, and the way she speaks are elegant.
Abilities/Strengths: Being a homunculus, Lust can regenerate and live through nearly anything - being impaled, decapitated, burned, etc. She is more or less immortal, with a few notable exceptions, as she does not age. She possesses agility, speed and strength superior to a normal human woman of her size. Her fingers can extend into powerful spikes that can easily cut through many things, earning her the nickname of "Ultimate Lance". Lust is intelligent,
knows how to play people, and is excellent at lying. She is very attractive, knows it, and uses this to her advantage.
Weapons: Her fingers. Yup. See strengths and weaknesses for more detail.
Weaknesses: Lust's most debilitating weakness is the remains of her former self. Being within proximity of them can paralyze her. The remains, coupled with an appropriate alchemy circle, can make Lust throw up the false Philosopher's Stones within her - which in turn, takes away her immortality and regenerative abilities, making her quite easy to kill. Her occasional compassion frustrates her, and can affect her judgment. Not so much a weakness as a limitation to her "ultimate lance" ability - Lust can only extend her fingers 50 metres, and no more.
History: (Note: Not a lot is known about Lust's past canonically - especially her past as a human. I'm fleshing it out some more.)
Lust was born into a well to do family, and her human name was Elisabete Valencia. She was a gentle girl, very privileged and somewhat spoiled. She received training in the arts, and in etiquette. When she was thirteen, her father fell asleep while smoking a cigar in the house. The place went up in flames, as did a significant portion of the family fortune - her father
had never put much trust into banks, and kept most of the fortune hidden at home.
The remaining money was enough to pay for Elisabete's education and cover boarding school costs.
Afterwards, she was on her own. She studied to become a doctor, and through her studies, became interested in Ishbalian culture.
Practicing medicine eventually lead her to Ishbal. Though Elisabete was not one of them, they quickly accepted her as one of their own and welcomed her to visit with them and join them for family dinners. Despite the very low pay, she found this rewarding, as she'd lacked those familial bonds for years. Eventually, she fell in love with Mattias. He was somewhat of an outsider, in that he didn't oppose alchemy the same way that most Ishbalians did. In
fact, he was actually researching it. Elisabete kept his secret, though.
Eventually, practicing medicine exposed her to one too many illnesses and she succumbed to sickness herself. She died a slow death, with Mattias trying to find a way to make her better again with alchemy. Eventually, he committed the worst of alchemy sins, and attempted human transmutation. Lust was the result. At first, she was a broken, deformed thing. A false philosopher's stone let her take shape, and she was given the identity "Lust".
More than any of the other homunculi, Lust desired to be human. Dante lied to her and claimed that the creation of a true Philosopher's stone could achieve that, so she began to seek out alchemists to manipulate. False philosopher's stones were given out to make people desire the power and to desire something more permanent. Eventually, she even tried to force Edward Elric to create one by holding his brother Al hostage along with Gluttony and Envy, but they were unsuccessful.
Shortly afterwards, Lust was sucked into Econtra, where she is presently.
